Rango 2 (2026) Official First trailer

Years after saving the dusty town of Dirt from chaos and corruption, Rango has grown quite comfortable as sheriff. The townsfolk still sing songs about the “legendary lizard with a badge,” but Rango’s sense of adventure begins to fade. That changes when a mysterious traveler arrives, warning of trouble brewing far beyond Dirt’s borders—a distant desert outpost called Red Rock is under threat, and they need help. Despite his better judgment, Rango dusts off his hat and sets out once more, craving the thrill of danger and justice.

Joined by old friends like Priscilla and the ever-grumpy Roadkill, Rango ventures into unfamiliar territory filled with blazing sun, quicksand traps, and quirky characters. Along the way, he meets Sagebrush Sally, a tough-as-nails jackrabbit with a sharp tongue and sharper aim. She leads a band of rebels trying to defend Red Rock from a ruthless land baron named Silas Grime, who’s draining the land of water and pushing creatures from their homes. Rango, torn between doing what’s right and playing the hero again, finds himself at a crossroads.

As the new allies plan their resistance, Rango begins to doubt his abilities. He’s not as fast as he used to be, and Sally questions whether he’s just a legend or a real leader. But when Silas Grime unleashes a team of mercenaries to crush Red Rock’s resistance, Rango realizes that being a hero isn’t about fame—it’s about showing up when it counts, even if you’re scared or outnumbered.

REVIEW: Rango (2011) - Geeks + Gamers

The showdown arrives in a swirling storm of dust and chaos. Armed with nothing but their wits, lasso tricks, and a malfunctioning cannon, Rango and the rebels defend the town in a wild, slapstick battle full of classic Western standoffs and unexpected twists. Roadkill pulls off a miraculous stunt involving dynamite and a goat, and Priscilla proves to be a fearless sniper from the rooftop. Rango faces Silas Grime in a tense duel—no guns, just guts—and wins not with violence, but with clever deception and heart.

In the aftermath, Red Rock celebrates its freedom, and Rango finally lets go of the idea that he has to be someone larger than life. He’s just Rango—a weird, brave, clever little chameleon. As the sun sets over the canyon, he tips his hat, rides off on a tortoise, and leaves behind another legend.
